On Election day the students here at Castle Rock voted at our own election. Our students nominated breakfast and lunch entrees to be on our school's Official Election Ballot. Then yesterday on Election Day our students cast their vote on their choice of the top 4 choices for a breakfast and lunch entree that will be served one day a week in December. Students had to fill-out a voter registration application to receive their voter registration card, come to the official voting polling place, sign-in for their ballot, vote in a voting booth, place their ballot in the official ballot drop box, and then of course they received an "I Voted" sticker.
Today the winning entrees were announced and the winning Entree Items were:
Breakfast: Biscuits and Gravy with 40% of the votes
Lunch: Beef Rigatoni Noodles with 30% of the votes
Both of these entree items will be served once a week for the month of December!
The MVL Volleyball Tournament is tomorrow in Hornbrook. Our 1st game starts at 11:00 AM vs. Golden Eagle South. If we win the 1st game our next game would be at 3:00 PM and if we were to lost the 1st game we would then play at 1:15 PM. See the Volleyball Tournament Bracket image for more details.
We are having a Family Movie Night on Wednesday, October 30th at 6:30 PM in our school cafeteria. All of our students and their families are invited to come enjoy a fun night watching Coco. We will have hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks available for purchase to raise money for our school's ASB . Funds raised will go towards school events, athletics, and field trips. We hope all of our families are able to come out to join us!
We will be participating in Red Ribbon Week starting Wednesday, Oct. 23rd-Thursday, Oct. 31st. Check out the attached image to see how your student can participate each day.!
Our volleyball game vs. McCloud is this Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at 5:00 PM at McCloud. Only our A Team will be playing at this game. Come on out to McCloud to support our team.!

Our August/September Awards Assembly will be on Friday at 9:15 AM. Parents whose students are receiving awards should have received an invitation. Come on out to celebrate our award winners!
Our Volleyball Game vs. Shasta Valley is this Thursday at Montague at 5:00 PM. We would love to have everyone come out to support our teams. Go HORNETS!
Back to School Night is Tuesday, September 10th from 5:30 PM-7:00PM. At 5:30 we will begin with our annual Parent Information Meeting. Then at 6:00PM we will have our dessert bar provided by the Lakehead's Lion's Club. At 6:20 PM our classroom presentations begin, which is a time for parents and guardians to hear important information about their child's classroom and what is expected of their child this school year. We hope that all of our parents and families will be able to attend.
Parents and Families are invited to our Welcome Back to School Lunch on the Lawn event tomorrow, August 28th, from 11:45 AM-12:15PM. Tomorrow is also a minimum day with school dismissal at 1:00 PM.
Our first day of school is this Thursday, August 15th. The 1st day of school is a minimum day!

Summer Camp Session 2 starts on Monday, July 22nd and ends on Friday, August 9th. Regular Summer Camp hours are from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM. Summer Camp After School Program runs from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM. Transportation for both North and South bus routes is provided for the Regular Summer Camp Hours. Contact the school office at 530-235-0101 if you have any questions regarding Summer Camp.
Castle Rock Summer Camp Session 1 started today, June 12th. Our students and staff are excited about all of the fun activities they will be doing during the next few weeks of Session 1. The first field trip is this Friday, June 14th to Noah's Ark Animal Rescue in Lakehead where students will be able to feed and interact with the animals at the rescue. Our End of the Year Water Day is tomorrow, Friday, June 7th. Make sure your student wears regular clothes to school, brings water wear (School appropriate swimsuit, shorts, and/or any clothing that can get wet) to change into, wears water shoes or shoes that can get wet (sandals must have a backstrap), and has sunscreen on prior to leaving home. Staff and current Castle Rock students ONLY for Water Day (10:00 AM-11:45 AM). Parents and families are welcome to join us at 12:00PM for LUNCH ON THE LAWN! Families bring blankets to sit on.
Tomorrow, May 7th, our TK-8th Grade students will be going on a Field Trip to the Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The bus will be leaving the school by 8:30 AM so make sure your students are on time to school! Students will arrive back at school around 2:15 PM.
