K-3 Fieldtrip Whiskeytown Environmental School
Topic: Evidence of Heredity: Students compare adult and immature organisms they capture in a creek ecosystem and try to match baby and mature plants in the forest. 
At Whiskeytown Environmental School (WES) the field instructors facilitate learning for students during this 3-hour field trip. Our curriculum is experiential and addresses your science standards. 
Every student needs a full water bottle.
Every field trip includes a creek experience. Students must wear shoes, so they may want to bring a change of shoes.

Students will need to order a school lunch or bring a sack lunch with them.  Lunch will be held on the lawn area at WES.

Topic: Aquatic Adaptations, Fire Ecology: Students temporarily capture aquatic animals and explore their structures and functions. Then they explore structures and functions in the resilient fire-impacted areas, focusing on the interactions between geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or atmosphere.
